How to cook eggs with no heat

Cook egg using alcohol

Materials:

  1. eggs
  2. bowl
  3. alcohol(vodka, rubbing alcohol if it’s high percent alcohol, any other high-proof alcohol)

All you have to do is  place the egg inside the bowl & then add some alcohol to it. After some minutes it slowly ‘cooks’. However, the egg might not be as tasty as the one prepared using traditional methods.

Science behind process

Protein denaturing is usually accomplished by heating & alcohol can achieve same effect by altering the proteins 3d structure
Cooking an egg, consists simply on denaturing* the proteins that are present in the cell contained by the eggshell. This protein denaturation is normally obtained by heat exposure (boiling or frying), but another way consists of adding compounds such as alcohol that denature the proteins by interacting with them and altering their 3D structure.

Cook egg using your cellphone

We have probably been told at some point that cellphones produce a certain type of radiation, the radio waves!

In 2006 two Russian Journalists Vladimir Lagovski and Andrei Moiseynko from Komsomolskaya Pravda Newspaper cooked an Egg with their Mobile Phones.

The journalists created a simple microwave structure as shown in the picture. They called from one cell phone to the other and left both phones on talking mode. They placed a tape recorder next to phones to imitate sounds of speaking so the phones would stay on.

After, 15 minutes: The egg became slightly warm.

25 minutes: The egg became very warm.

40 minutes: The egg became very hot.

65 minutes: The egg was cooked.

Skeptics insisted it was impossible — that the slight wattage emitted by mobile phones isn’t strong or consistent enough to heat an object to cooking temperature. Some tried to replicate the experiment without success, i also tried it & failed. Perhaps they were only trying to make us aware of the radiation our phones expose us to though its too small to cause that kind of impact.

So we have confirmed the alcohol method works but the later remains a myth. Please try both experiments and give us feedback!
