“Could not complete the Save As command because there is not enough memory (RAM)”

Have you tried to save a file and an error pops up saying “”Could not complete the Save As command because there is not enough memory (RAM)”. I’m using Windows 10 and Adobe Photoshop CC 2017, and trust me, I have been there, done that and I know for sure how frustrating it is!

Worry not, I figured it out. Follow the steps below to solve the problem:

In the Search box, type regedit and press Enter (If prompted by User Account Control, click Yes to open the Registry Editor).

Search box

On the reg edit main page, open up the -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER branch

Registry Editor

Open up the -> Software branch

Registry Editor (HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Open the -> Adobe branch

Registry Editor (Software)

Open the -> Photoshop branch

Registry Editor (Adobe)

In my case, I have 3 folders (100.0; 110.0 & 90.0)  within the Photoshop folder. I must find the right path for Photoshop by checking all the 3 folders eg:- my Adobe is installed in location 110.0 (that’s my right path). Click on the folders one-by-one and double click on SettingsFilePath to check for the right path

Registry Editor (Adobe)

Right click on the correct key -> Click the New ->  then select DWORD(32-bit) value

Registry Editor (110.0)

Rename the “New Value #1” to “OverridePhysicalMemoryMB” and press enter

Regedit (naming)

Double click on “OverridePhysicalMemoryMB” and choose the Hexadecimal value and type “24000” press enter

And finally, close the Registry Editor and  open your Photoshop

Please let us know below if this was helpful or not, thanks!!!
