The error message “the uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini” can appear when you’re uploading large images, videos, plugins, themes, any type of file that you upload to your WordPress site. Here’s the fix via the Plesk panel in 3 easy steps;
Login to your account and under your webspace navigate to PHP Settings.
Under Performance and security settings, change the memory_limit 256M. The default on TOPSWEBHOST is set to 128M
Lastly scroll down to the bottom of the settings page and click OK, resfresh your website and reupload your file.
Please remember that even though you can see this limit in your WordPress site (if you go to Media → Add New) this upload limit is not a WordPress setting.
